Why can't I access my MySQL database from my computer or another website?

For security reasons, it is only possible to connect to the MySQL server via local connections by default. Sometimes, however, it may be necessary for you as a client to let an external system talk to your database. To allow this, do the following:

  1. Log in to your cPanel account at https://your-domain.dk/cpanel

  2. Go to DatabasesExternal MySQL®
    Ekstern MySQL

  3. Add an IP address/host
    Tilføj Ekstern MySQL

  4. Click on Add host

It should now be possible to make connections to the database from the IP address/host you added.
