How do I setup my Microsoft 365/Exchange account in Outlook?

Remember to use Outlook (classic):

It is important to use Outlook (classic) to set up your Exchange account, as Outlook (new) does not support Microsoft 365/Exchange accounts.

When you search in the Windows start menu, it's important to select Outlook (Classic).

If you do not have Outlook (classic), it can be obtained by upgrading to a Microsoft 365 Exchange Large-license, which includes the Microsoft Office suite.

Email configuration:

ATTN: If you don't have any other mail accounts configured in Outlook, skip directly to step 3.

1. Click on File in the upper left corner.

2. Click on Add Account to set up a new email account.

3. Type in your email address and click on Connect.

4. Type in your password and click on Sign in.

5. Deselect Allow my organization to manage my account and click on Only this app in the bottom left.

6. Deselect Set up Outlook Mobile on my phone, too and click Done.
