What does it mean that my .dk domain is registrar managed?

On September 20th 2021, DK Hostmaster introduced a new service called registrar management. With a domain under registrar management, your .dk domain is managed through enavn's client area instead of DK Hostmaster's self-service. This means that as a registrant of .dk domains, you will be able to manage the following at our client area:

  • Change of name servers
  • DNSSEC
  • Authorization codes

In the future, it will also be possible to manage your domain's contact information.

What does this mean for my existing domains?

Your existing domains will not be affected by this. You can still manage registrar managed domains via DK Hostmaster's self-service. If you want to change the domain to registrar management, you can order a domain transfer via our domain form.
If your domain is already with us, you can contact our customer service to get the domain under registrar management.

What does this mean for new domains?

In the future, all new domain registrations and transfers will take place as registrar managed domains.
If this is the first time you are registering or transferring a registrar managed domain, a new DK Hostmaster account will be created for you, regardless of what is entered in the "DK Hostmaster user ID" field. If you enter a user ID for an existing account that has registrant managed domains (the old account type), the field will be ignored. It is not possible to add registrar managed domains to the old type of accounts.
If, on the other hand, you already have a user account with DK Hostmaster that has registrar managed domains, the user ID can be specified in the field.

Invoicing of your .dk domains is handled by enavn.

Can I cancel enavn as a reseller?

Yes. As soon as the domain have been registered, you have the opportunity to cancel enavn (Fionia IT ApS) as the registrar via the self-service at DK Hostmaster. If you want to move the domain to another registrar, you can use enavn's client area to generate an authorization code (also called an EPP code) which you can provide to the new registrar. This can also be done via DK Hostmaster's self-service.

Please note that you will not be able to manage the domain through enavn's client area if the domain is moved to another registrar or if enavn is otherwise cancelled as a registrar.

If you have questions about registrar management, you are welcome to contact our customer service.
