What is the difference between enavn.dk’s free certificates and ones that cost money?

enavn.dk’s free certificates are created by Let's Encrypt which are functionally identical to any basic certificate you would spend money for elsewhere. Our basic free certificate is as secure as a normal SSL certificate. Still there are some differences:

- Let's Encrypt doesn't offer dynamic site seals which some visitors may find reassuring.

- At enavn.dk we provide dedicated IPs with normal SSL certificates but not with Let's Encrypt.

- Our paid SSL certificates, also called EV (Extended Validation) SSL certificates, add extra assurance for site visitors because they also display the organization name in a GREEN browser address bar and company information in the certificate. EV require a thorough background check of the organization before issuance. For comparison Let's Encrypt are domain-validated only.
